Evaluation of the Institute's business operations from 2004 to 2007 shows that some important and positive steps have been made. It is important to emphasize greater amount of work done for the users within the framework of the industrial and european projects, as well as the great progress in indicators of the scientific excellence.

In the years 2008 our goals are to enforce the cooperation of our Institute with the users (especially users from the business sector), cooperation with the higher education institutions, connections with the research institutions from all over the world, enforce market – orientation and enterprise initiative, cooperation of the Institute at development policy-making, enforce the effectiveness and quality of the work done, prepare a Institute's code of conduct and a greater integration of the younger researchers into the research and development activity.
