Development of environmentally friendlier methods for halogenation and oxidation of organic compounds.
Solvent-free conditions and alternative reaction media (water, ionic liquids) for introduction of iodine into organic compounds.
An investigation of amino acids as corrosion inhibitors of copper.

1996-1998 – 2 Gold Pregl's Awards and Silver Pregl's Award for 1st place on the National Competition of Chemistry for High school students.
1999 – Participation on 31st International Chemistry Olimpiad, Bangkok, Thailand.
- 2004 – Prešern Award for "Halogenation of some biomimetic model molecules from the group of methoxy substituted benzenes" granted by University of Ljubljana, Faculty for Chemistry and Chemical Technology.
